Horse & Chickie Fun

Make sure to find Edmund in all these pics. He was fearless when it came to these horses. I swear he would have jumped on their backs if I'd let him.

Second Round of Antibiotics

Can't believe I still feel like crude two weeks later. Sore throat popped back up again and went to the doc. Red throat and sinus issues means more antibiotics. I'm believing these drugs will work thoroughly and quickly. We're having Edmund's Birthday party on Sunday. Christian has been an amazing husband and "Mr. Mom" through all of this. Thank you Honey!

Strep?????

I feel like I'm writing my sister's blog. I got my tonsils out when I was 17 years old. I had chronic cases of strep throat for about two years. Although the recovery of the surgery was horrible, it was totally worth it!

So I haven't had strep or barely even a sore throat in 18 years and then two days ago a really bad sore throat starts to come on. Then a low grade fever. Then a fever of 102 degrees. I was talking to my sister and told her that it feels reminiscent of strep and she thought it could be psychological, since I knew that her son, who just had his tonsils out, got strep recently. I agreed with her and just thought it was a bad cold.

I had always thought I couldn't get strep because there weren't any tonsils for the bacteria to grab on to. So it does happen, but is very uncommon. Well, when the fever wouldn't go away I decided to go in to the doctor. I have two small children and if I had strep the chances are they do as well.

So the doctor comes in with a face mask and I knew right away that my strep test came back positive. Then I went immediately home and got the kiddos and hubby to return with me to Urgent Care. Evie has strep, but Edmund does not. Weird???? I don't understand how one got it and not the other? Anyhow, Evie has been battling symptoms all week, but nothing that would slow her down. How can we have the same infection and I can barely get off the couch or feed myself and she is still bouncing of the walls??? Don't get it... Anyhow, I'm glad she feels good.

Life is back to normal

Sorry no pics in a while. I'll try and work on that this week. Hubby's back and we are in the swing of normal life again.
All in all the 10 days of being a single Stay-at-Home Mother was not too bad. The beginning was great and the end was just holding on, but we made it through and are so happy Christian's back!

God's Grace is Sufficient: Day 7

Well, I'm feeling the affects from being a full-time stay-at-home single mom. I'm definitely needing some "me" time or just peace and quiet w/no responsibilities. We've done fast food twice today and I'm totally okay with that! :) I realize that if my kiddos are pooping and they are eating gummy vitamins... they'll survive the next three days with less than stellar quality food.

Edmund's teething again and starting to form some words. It's so stinking cute!!! The words that is, not the teething.

Evie's 5 days with going on the potty. She is so proud of herself as well am I. My little girl is getting so big.

Christian will be home in 3 days!! Praise the Lord!!!! Come home baby!!! That's all I have to say about that!

God's Grace is Sufficient: Day 4 "I miss my IT guy!'

Since hubby has been gone we've lost the Internet, which means we lost the phone. Also, we woke up this morning to no heat!

I've spent about three hours trying to get the Internet going. Phone works and one laptop, but the wireless is still down. Looks like we have a bad router.

I'm currently waiting for the heating guy to call me back so we can set up an appointment for this afternoon. I've spent about 90 minutes on the furnace.

This is a good way for me to feel confident again about technical and mechanical stuff. I've really relied on Christian because he's so good at this stuff.

God's Grace is Sufficient: Day3

Doing well today. We had a playdate with two other moms and their kiddos. It was fun to have some people over, even though my house is sooooo dirty. Oh well, fun before house cleaning is my motto.

Evie is starting to miss daddy. She keeps talking about the present he's suppose to bring her when he gets back. She has also decided that she is a pee-on-the-potty girl! Yahoo! I can't believe how easy it is when they just decide to do it on their own.

Edmund is doing well. I know he misses daddy because he is trying to get me to do "daddy things" like: play gonna get you, throw him on the bed, and wrestle. It's not that I never do these things, it's just that daddy always plays like this with him when he gets home from work.

I got a Visa gift card from Christian's work today to thank me for all the support I give him while he's traveling. My job actually had an income this week. Kudos for me and a job well done! lol I'm sure I'll put it towards a Spa Day.

God's Grace is Sufficient: Day 1

Christian left this morning for a 9 day business trip. This will be the longest he and I have been apart since before we were engaged. I will miss my best friend greatly.

He recently went on a 4 day trip and that went quite well. I was a pretty level headed mommy with a 3 & 1 year old at home, but the last day I started to loose my cool and held on till hubby got home. I really feel like I had God's grace for those 4 days and now I'm trusting Him to provide what I need for the next 9. We've already had one major meltdown this morning from the little man, but I handled that pretty well. He is definitely entering the 2's and it's amazing how soon you forget all the boundary drawing you need to do.

Here's the verse I'm standing on for the next 9 days:

2Cor12:9 "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I'm glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

Oklaaaaahomaaa here we come!

I'm so stoked!!! We leave for Oklahoma this weekend for the wedding of the decade! Our best friends Holley and Josh are marrying each other. Isn't that awesome? We actually introduced the two, but I can't take all the credit. God might have had a hand in it as well...Ok, maybe He really is fully responsible, but it's so cool to be used by Him.
My sis is taking kiddo 1 & 2 for a four day extravaganza. Send prayers her way. I know she is super mom, but she's coming off a surgery and has a lifting restriction. I'll post pics when I get back.

Two Too Cute Kids=Mommy is a pushover

I'm becoming a total pushover. Evie is really starting to act like 4 year old. Age 4 has been my favorite kid age since I've been an adult. I love that age. The kids are more articulate and can have a conversation with you, but they are still super affectionate and want tons of hugs and will sit in your lap.

Well Evie is 3, but her words are improving by leaps and bounds everyday. It's so cute seeing her piece the words together to make a complete sentence. When she tries so hard and looks at me with those big, beautiful, blue eyes it's so hard to say "no". She's not even 4 yet. What am I going to do???
